Scott Timothy Harless, 37, passed away July 13, 2022. A visitation will be held on Wednesday, July 20, 2022 from 6-8pm at Memory Chapel Funeral Home of Tuscaloosa. Funeral services will be Thursday, July 21, 2022 at 10AM from the Funeral Home Chapel, with Pastor Jeremy Auvil officiating. Interment will immediately follow from Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of the Last Supper. Services are under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Scott was born July 08, 1985 to Tim Harless and the late Wanda Harless Martin. Scott was a hard worker and a true pillar in the Tuscaloosa area restaurant and service industry. Scott was owner of Nocturnal Tavern and co-owner of Central Mesa. Through Nocturnal Tavern, he was able to sponsor “The Bat Girls” softball team and passionately did whatever he could to support local music and the arts. A member of Theta Chi fraternity, he enjoyed time spent with the Tuscaloosa Dart League, competitive pistol shooting and was a member of the West AL Chamber of Commerce.
The words of a friend best describe Scott: “Scott saw the world through a beautifully creative scope and those who are fortunate enough to know and work with him have not only lost a true friend, but a mentor and inspiration. His fierce passion and countless hours of hard work have helped to build so much throughout the city of Tuscaloosa, far beyond Nocturnal and Central Mesa.
Scott made a habit of building up people he cared about without hesitation, dropping whatever plans he might have had to help with car trouble or talk you through a hard day. He was a caring and selfless person; one unlike any other. His legacy will forever live on, embedded in every nail, brushstroke and recipe he touched. To say he will be missed is an insurmountable understatement. Tuscaloosa’s heart beats broken and heavy without him.”
In addition to his mother, Wanda Harless Martin, he was preceded in death by grandparents: Delmar & Samuel Montgomery and George Harless, and Rose & Billy Holliman. Scott is survived by his father Tim Harless; sisters: Kristina H. Weeks (Richard) and Sheri Harless Taylor (Shane); “brother” Joe McCulley (Jordan); nephews Jack Hallmark and Greyson Taylor; and niece Chloe Taylor.
Serving as Active Pallbearers will be: Brandon Tribble, Aaron Harris, Tyler Crawford; Ryan Watson; Josh Bell and Demetrius Stockdale. Employees of Nocturnal Tavern, Central Mesa and friends of the Tuscaloosa area restaurant and service industry will be recognized as Honorary Pallbearers.
