Born July 27, 1927 in Hackleburg, AL she was the oldest of six children born to the late Nathan and Leona Yielding. June 12, 1950, she married the love of her life Harvey Lenzie Miles. Ruby made a career out of tending to the needs of her family, she was an impeccable cook and an immaculate housekeeper. She raised her children with unwavering devotion. A soft spoken true southern lady, Ruby was a lady of few words. She led by example, teaching her family how to love, live and care for each other. She was a devout Christian by faith and had attended Robertson Chapel Baptist Church for a number of years, she was a member of Indian Lake Baptist Church, in later years, and was active in church activities for as long as her health permitted. Ruby loved flowers and enjoyed taking care of her small flower patch and admiring the birds that frequented her birdbath. The matriarch of her family, Ms. Miles was a true friend to her daughter Patricia, she leaves a legacy of family who will forever cherish the time that they have had with her.
In addition to her parents, Ms. Miles was preceded in death by her Husband Lenzie Miles, son Andy and sisters Wesley Mae, Patsy and Faye.
She is survived by her daughter Patricia (Michael) White; three grandchildren Renae (Todd) Malone, Chris (Miranda) White and Brittni (Brent) Johnson; nine great-grandchildren Caleb White, Danielle Malone, Michael Malone, Isaiah (Colleen) White, Caitlin White, Austin (Kasey) Phillips, Jax Johnson, Miles Leigh Johnson, Bryant Johnson; one great-great-grandchild Cara Martinez; sister Sue Moore and brother James (Tina) Yielding.
A graveside funeral service will be held on Sunday, March 06, 2022 at 2:00PM from Memory Hill Gardens, Garden of Prayer. Services will be officiated by Ms. Miles’ brother, Pastor James Yielding and under the direction of Memory Chapel, a Dignity Memorial provider.
Active Pallbearers will be her family: Chris White, Caleb White, Isaiah White, Austin Phillips, Todd Malone, Antonio Martinez, Brent Johnson and Michael Malone. With Renae Malone, Miranda White, Brittni Johnson, Danielle Malone, Coleen White, Caitlin White, Kasey Phillips, Jax Johnson, Miles Leigh Johnson, Bryant Johnson, Cara Martinez, Friends and Neighbors of Union Chapel Road, members of Indian Lake Baptist Church and Robertson Chapel Baptist Church, the nurses of DCH 6 North, Staff of Amedysis Home Health Care (Paige, Jill and Jessica) and Alabama Hospice (Sheila) recognized as Honorary Pallbearers.
