Opal Faye Adams, 94, of Tuscaloosa, AL passed away at home on November 28, 2022. Services will be held on Thursday, December 1, 2022, at Memory Chapel Funeral Home at 11:00 with Dr. Herb Thomas officiating and burial to follow in Memory Hill Gardens with Memory Hill Funeral Home directing. A visitation will be held 1 hour prior to the service.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Monroe Adams; parents Jimmie Ora Jacobs and Thomas Otto Jacobs; her son, Wayne Adams; her granddaughter, Sonya Rudd; her son-in-law Louie Lewis; her sisters Mary Wiley and Grace Redding; and her brothers, Tom Jacobs and Otto Jacobs.
She is survived by her daughters, Linda Lewis, Connie Sullivan(Larry), Cathy Jones(Johnny), Andreia Clements(Sidney); her son David Adams(Donna); her sisters, Patsy Clements, Lois Comer, Carol Huggins, Debra Montgomery; brothers, Kenneth Jacobs, Elmer Jacobs, Roger Jacobs; her grandchildren, Matt Sullivan, Leann Feely, Ashley Swope, Dax Lewis, John Jones, Josh Jones, Jacob Jones, Bart Adams, Jennifer Adams, Summer Christman, Heather Dill, Jackson Adams; and sixteen beloved great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers are Matt Sullivan, Josh Jones, John Jones, Jacob Jones, Dax Lewis, Jackson Adams, and Bart Adams.
Honorary pallbearers are Circlewood Church friends and her wonderful nurses with SouthernCare New Beacon Hospice.
Faye was a longtime resident of the Circlewood community and has been a member of Circlewood Baptist Church since 1956.
She was employed by Bryce Hospital and later worked alongside her daughters at their businesses, A Bride to Be and The Catering Cart. Everyone loved seeing her at all the events because of her vibrant and happy personality.
Most everyone knew her as “Granny”, she was an everyday part of all her families’ lives; there isn’t a memory without her in it. Granny attended and loved all her grandchildren’s sporting events, pageants, and plays.
Granny was an avid sports fan- she loved Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves baseball. She loved life and everyone in her world.
Granny- consistent, strong, loving, kind, unselfish, dependable, helpful, self-sufficient, and last but not least enduring.
