Joyce was known for her love of traveling to the beach and Smokey Mountains with family and friends. She loved Alabama Football and the Atlanta Braves. Her grandchildren could always count on her to be at any event, no matter what, when, or where. But the highlight of her week was cooking Sunday dinners for the entire family and having everyone together under one roof. Joyce was a faithful member of Gilgal Baptist Church for 42 years, of which she kept the nursery for 38 of those years and loved on every child that attended.

She is survived by her daughter, Demetrice (Ricky) Davis of Tuscaloosa; son, Tony (Jackie) B Williams of Tuscaloosa; sister, Judy (Jerry) Speed of Dothan, AL; brother-in-law, Billy Andrews; grandchildren, Cory (Lesley) Davis, Chase (Sarah) Davis, Dillon (Chloe) Williams and Kelsey (Chris) Gomez; great-grandchildren, Chandler Davis, Peyton Davis, Saylor Davis, and Isaac Gomez, along with several cousins, nieces, and nephews.
