Jerry R. Booth, age 80, of Tuscaloosa, took his Heavenly flight on Monday morning, December 28, 2020, at Heritage Nursing Home and Rehab. Services will be on Sunday, January 3, 2021, at 2:00 PM, at Cross Pointe Church, 4109 University Boulevard East, Tuscaloosa, AL with Rev. Freddy Williams and Rev. Stacey Kelley officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 PM until time of service. Burial will follow in Memory Hill Gardens.
Jerry was born May 11, 1940. He was a strong Christian who was known for his prayer life, calling out the names of family and close friends to His Heavenly Father each day. He was married to his wife Carolyn for 55+ years and supported her quietly in the background in her many church activities through the years. He especially enjoyed attending the many sporting events and other school activities of his sons and grandchildren. He was looking forward to becoming a great grandfather in May. Jerry was retired from JVC of Tuscaloosa.
Preceding him in death are his parents, J.R. and Sybil Booth. Survivors include his wife, Carolyn and two sons, Scott (Linda) Booth and Chris (Marisa) Booth; Grandchildren, Chelsea, Will (Macey), Caley, Cade and Emily Booth; his brothers, Jerone (Sandy) Booth and Bobby (Suzanne) Booth, numerous cousins, nieces and nephews, whom he loved very much.
Pallbearers will be his 5 grandchildren, his nephews Gary Wayne Skipper and Dr. Barton Booth, and close family friend, Ken Adams.
Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Craig Buettner, Barbi Cleino, RNP, Dr. Fausto Salinas, members of Cross Pointe Church and One Hope Church, Leroy and Geneva Lane, James and Sandy Emerson, Julia and Tony Terry, Sherri and Steve Sanford, Martha Sims, Kenny and Robin Sims, Eber and Bonnie Barnett, Neilson and Melissa Barnett and family, Stephen and Madeline Barnett and family, Ethel Barnett, Francine McCray, Shurra Watkins, Fred Hamner, Mantachie High School in Mississippi, Shawn Hall and H&M Construction Company, Pam Cabiness and University Supply Store, Hunt Refining Company, Cottondale Elementary School, former employees of JVC of Tuscaloosa, close friends and Broadview neighbors. Special thanks to DCH staff and physicians, and staff of Heritage Nursing Home and Rehab for providing such loving care.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the missions fund of Cross Pointe Church.
