Gail Holbrook Ray

Gail Holbrook Ray, age 75, of Tuscaloosa, Alabama passed away on Wednesday, November 1, 2023 at DCH. A Celebration of Life will be held on Monday, November 6, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Memory Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Memory Hill Gardens. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Gail was preceded in death by her parents, Fanny L. Holbrook and Edward B. Holbrook and son-in-law, Darryl L. Lovell. She is survived by her husband, James Ray of Tuscaloosa, AL; Daughter, Cynthia R. Lovell of Tuscaloosa, AL; son, Jim Ray (Jennifer) of Northport AL; grandchildren, Bethany Reese (Nathan) of Frederick, MA, Caroline Colburn (Jackson) of Northport, AL, Ryan Lovell of Ridgeland, MS, Hayden Ray (Shelby) of Northport, AL, and Mason Ray of Northport, AL; great grandchildren, Amelia Claire Ray and (expectant) Baby Colburn. She is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins who meant the world to her and her faithful and furry friend, Pepper.

Gail was a devoted wife to James for 56 years. She was a loving mother, proud grandmother and great grandmother. When Mrs. Ray wasn't taking care of her family, she was serving her Lord at her church. She made sure her home was always welcoming for family and friends. She will be missed by those who knew her. Pallbearers will be Ryan Lovell, Hayden Ray, Mason Ray, Jackson Colburn, Nathan Reese, and Ray Smith. Honorary pallbearers are Dr. Nancy Tactuk and staff, Dr. Eugene A, Mangieri and staff, the staff of DCH MICU 1, and Tuscaloosa Fire Rescue Station # 7.
