Noemia Gomes Esteves, age 89, of Ripon, California passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, on Sunday, February 11, 2024. Noemia was born in Posto Santo, Angra do Heroismo, Terceira, Açores to Antonio and Maximina Gomes.
Noemia is survived by her children Manuel F. Esteves (Maria) of Hughson, Odete Avila of Posto Santo, Açores, José F. Esteves (Jorgelina) of Ripon, Eucaristia Machado (José) of São Sebastião, Açores andJohn Esteves (Elisa) of Oakdale along with her sister Evangelina Furtado of Boston. Noemia also leaves behind her nine grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren to honor her memory.
Noemia was preceded in death by her husband João P. Esteves; her father Antonio Gomes and her mother Maximina Sousa; her brother Manuel Gomes.
Noemia was a parishioner of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Escalon.
A Visitation for Noemia will be held Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
A Recitation of the Rosary will occur Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 7:00 PM, 286 West Main, Turlock, CA 95380.
Funeral Mass, Thursday, February 22, 2024 at 10:30 AM at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 19399 CA-120, Ripon, CA 95366.
A Committal Service will occur Thursday, February 22, 2024 at St. John's Catholic Cemetery, 17871 Carrolton Road, Escalon, CA 95320.
