Mary is survived by: her husband, John Sousa of Salinas; son Larry Dean Rose (Michele) of Merced; daughter Linda Oliveira (Louie) of Turlock; sister Margaret Sousa of Tipton; sister Ida Souza of Hilmar; and sister Hazel Sousa of Tipton. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Michael Oliveira, Paul Oliveira, Dylan Rose, Drake Rose, Stefan Rose, and Ava Rose.
Mrs. Rose-Sousa was preceded in death by her sister Fatima Vierra, two brothers, one sister, and her parents.
She was a dedicated parishioner of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Hilmar, California as well as a member of Y.L.I. #223 and S.P.R.S.I. #151. She enjoyed making capes for and attending Portuguese Festas. She also enjoyed gardening and had a particular love for flowers.
A visitation for Mary will be held from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Sunday, June 2, 2019 at Whitehurst-Norton-Dias Funeral Service: 286 W. Main Street, Turlock, California. There will be a recitation of the rosary later that evening at 7:00 PM at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California.
A funeral mass will occur at 10:00 AM on Monday, June 3, 2019 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church: 8471 Cypress Street, Hilmar, California. She will be laid to rest immediately following the services at Turlock Memorial Park: 575 N. Soderquist Road, Turlock, California.
Serving as pallbearers are Michael Oliveira, Paul Oliveira, Dylan Rose, Drake Rose, Stefan Rose, and Manuel Sousa.
