Thomas was born on January 16, 1987, to Kevin and Rosanne Jones of Olympia, Washington. He attended Black Hills High School in Tumwater, Washington with the class of 2006. He found a passion working with nature in roles as a landscaper, arborist, and excavating contractor. In November 2015 he welcomed into the world his beautiful daughter, Layla, who was the most important part of his life.
Thomas was affectionately known by his family and friends as “toot,” “Tommy Boy,” “Tom Bomb,” and “Tommy Gunz.” He enjoyed woodworking, specifically fractal wood burning. He enjoyed spending time with his dad and his daughter, Layla. In his spare time, he enjoyed maintaining his cousin Josh’s yard, who also happened to be one of his favorite people. He spent a significant amount of his time pondering on a swing he built on the top of a hill on his cousin Josh’s property. Thomas loved music, especially country and rap, and knew the words to every song he sang. The Ocean was another favorite place for him because it brought him joy and peace. One of his favorite memories was a spontaneous trip to the beach that he took with his sister, Misty, whom he always looked up to. His love of nature began as a small child when his parents would take the family on camping trips every year. During these trips he was able to experience so many adventures from Canada to California, touring most of the pacific Northwest and all of its natural glory. He will always be remembered for his kind heart and being the first to run and help someone in need.
Those left to cherish his memory include his daughter, Layla Jones; parents Kevin and Rosanne Jones; sister, Misty Lowe (Jones) and her husband, Garrett; niece, Kyleigh; nephews, Trenton, Easton, and Benjamin; aunt, Vicky Jones; uncle, Jack Jones and his wife, Janette; and cousins, Justin Jones, Marinda and Brianna Peugh, and Josh and Jennifer Jones. He was preceded in death by his grandmothers, Mabel Smith and Shirley Jones and grandfathers, Paul E Smith and Thomas P. Jones.
