Born to Tom and Hazel Hull January 28th, 1933, Thomas was anxious for adventure and to explore the world: at 17 he joined the US Marine Corps (with his parent’s consent).
At 17 Thomas (Tom) was sent boot camp for six weeks, then advanced weapons training for 6 more weeks, and then shipped off to the fight on the front lines in the Korean War.
Tom was not raised to know God but he heard God speaking to his heart as prepared himself for war.
This is where he learned to pray and discovered that God hears our prayers. The Marines gave him 15 minutes to pray and this was his 1st prayer: he simply said “God, I know you haven’t spared others and I surely don’t deserve any special favor, but if you will Sir, please give me courage under fire and take away all fear. Amen."
And God granted him that prayer, as he became a scout and a sniper, leading all patrols and company columns movements. This was his life for the next 14 months, out of his platoon only two men returned from this bloody battle. He received 4 major battle stars while there and Tom realized that God had granted him his prayer because he had no fear at all except that which was precautionary fear.
Tom went on to marry the Love of his life, Barbara Charlette Carmen, faithfully for 69 years.
Together they raised 5 children, Barbara Lee, Joseph Timothy, Deborah Ann, Susan Ruth and Thomas Jeffrey to know that God Loved them, God sent his Son Jesus to Die for them so that they could be eternally with God one day and that the Gods Holy spirit would lead and guide them through this life if they would give their whole hearts to God.
Tom was successful in business and all that he put his hands to God blessed.
Life was not always easy for Tom and Barbara but Tom lead his family forward with Gods help and without fear through it all to the end.
He was Loved by all that knew him and will be missed by all, until that day when we will meet again as promised by our Lord and Savior.
