Theresa Alphonsine Humphrey

Born June 2, 1936. Died December 13, 2024 after a battle with cancer.

Theresa loved life and her family.

She was born in Caribou, Maine and spent the first 15 years there, and loved to return for visits. Her family history is French-Canadian and she grew up speaking French and English, and attending a French speaking Catechism through 8th grade.

She met and married James Howard Humphrey while still young and began her life as a military wife. Due to the military life, she had the opportunity to live in Panama, France, Okinawa, and different parts of the US, and settled in Olympia, WA. She worked many years for the state of Washington, retiring in her early 70’s.

She was blessed with 3 sons, 7 grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren, and many dogs that were part of her family. She was especially close to her beagle, Sheila, which created a love for beagles.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Howard Humphrey, Sr., and her oldest son, James Howard Humphrey, Jr. She is survived by her two sons, Donald (Kim) Humphrey, and Robert (Julie) Humphrey, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren.

She is loved and missed by her friends, cherished and mourned by her family. She often chatted with people she met on her many walks, especially if they were walking a dog or with a horse. Always a mom. We miss you.
