The daughter of Cornelius and Frances McCarthy, Patricia was born in Broken Bow, Nebraska. She was raised along with her seven brothers and sisters near Cozad, Nebraska.
Patricia was a lover of animals – especially her dear dogs Pancake and Daphne and horses Angel and Comet – with whom she shared many beautiful mornings watching the sunrise over the small valley she shared with Tom, her husband of 31 years.
Although her illness slowed her greatly, Patricia also was an avid bowler. She and Tom were members of the Newcomer’s Mixed bowling league at Westside Lanes in Olympia since 1993, earning many awards and recognitions – as well as amazing friendships. She also served for many years as league president.
She is survived by her husband Howard L. “Tom” Thomas; son Lloyd Brown and his wife Stephanie; son Larry Brown and his wife Beth; step-son Dean Thomas; step-son Michael Thomas; grandchildren Jake, Madison, Zachary, and Carson; step-grandchildren Tyler, Corey, Kelie, Rachel and Madelyne; sister Mary Nichelson and brother John McCarthy.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister Janet Mondragon; brothers Neil, Tom, William, and Jerry McCarthy; step-daughter Cami Mackie; and step-granddaughter Cassandra Mackie.
Memorial services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, March 9 at Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, 1601 North Street, Olympia.. Charitable donations can be made to the Lewis-Mason-Thurston Area Agency on Aging
