Mark Neal was born 1.22.53 in Dallas TX and passed away 1.30.13 in Issaquah WA. Mark was a police officer with the Seattle Police Department and worked hard for 28 years. He was a certified personal trainer and a gifted coach. In the last 5 years, Mark coached high school shot-put and discus. Each year, he had students who went to state.
Mark had finally realized his lifelong dream of having his own personal state-of-the-art gym at his home on Tiger Mountain where he was already having a positive influence on the lives of a number of kids. He was very much looking forward to retiring from police work and training kids full time. He loved weight lifting and track and still holds the shot-put record for his high school.
Mark loved Cairn terriers, and along with wife, Lisa, fostered 30 pups, wanting to adopt them all. He leaves behind his fur kids: Reggie, Toby and Wriggley. His beloved Reilly, Sissy, Roxie and Cassie are with him in heaven. Mark loved these little dogs with all his heart and was happiest when he was on walks with them or cuddling up with them on the couch. Mark had a love for all animals and would buy food to feed the wild animals on his beat in Discovery Park. He also regularly bought food for a homeless man's dog. Mark had a beautiful smile and loved talking about politics and history.
Mark was a big strong man but had a tender heart that he shared with few. He leaves behind many friends, and we still can't believe he is gone. We find comfort that he has gone home and is in the arms of Jesus. I love you, Mark ~ until we meet again.
Survived by his wife and best friend of eighteen years, Lisa Neal, along with her family, Kaye Kjorlaug; Tom and Cherie Kjorlaug, and their children Krysta (Donald), Nicole and Tommy; Tim and Kathy Kjorlaug, and their son Joshua; as well as Mark’s sister, Karen Miller and her children, Crystal, Katrina and Jordan; and Julie and Dan Powell, and their children, Maddie and Ernie.
