Betty Lou Taylor, 96, a resident of Olympia since 1955, passed away peacefully on December 15, 2024. Betty was born on July 10,1928 in Centralia, Washington to LeRoy Kerstetter and Florence Miller Kerstetter. Her parents divorced not long after her birth and her mother married John Salzer, who raised her as his own daughter. In the following years, she was joined by four younger brothers and a younger sister to complete the family.
Betty is survived by three daughters. Kathy (Jerry) Suesz, Lewiston, Idaho, Cindy Brown, Olympia and Dot (Ken) Maginot, Kerrville, Texas. She is survived by 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 12 great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, her husband, Elmore Taylor, two daughters, Betsy Bratlie and Mary Myrfield, and a granddaughter, Samantha Bratlie, and great grandson, Hunter Miller.
Betty worked at Sears for over 20 years. She loved to sew, bake and knit and was a 4-H leader for many years. She enjoyed traveling and took vacations to many places, including Alaska, Panama, Europe and Australia.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 10th, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at Mills & Mills Funeral Home Chapel, 5725 Littlerock Rd SW, Tumwater, WA. Services will begin immediately following the visitation with interment at noon.
