Barbara taught kindergarten privately in Dayton, Washington. She then taught in Guam before moving to Olympia where she taught for 20 years for the Olympia school district. When she retired, her and Jack were snowbirds, eventually landing in Yuma, Arizona for their winters.
Many family camping trips were had throughout the years which trained her family for many competitive card games. Barbara was an avid reader and played cards and dominos regularly and assembled many, many puzzles. She had a wonderful sense of humor. She could tease and be teased. She was also very resourceful when it came to fixing things. She was a master at improvising, a “MacGyver” of sorts. She will be sorely missed by those who are left behind.
A private family graveside is planned and a memorial will take place a later date to be announced.
Arrangements are under the care and direction of Mills & Mills Memorial Park.
