Born August 24, 1958 in Rawlins, Wyoming, son of Linda Carol Lay Mayfield and William W. Mayfield; a tiny fighter of 4 pounds. The courage and strength he was born with shaped him into the extraordinary man he became. Jed was raised and educated in Utah. He grew up on a ranch which formed his incredible work ethic, he learned that hard work was the road to success in all things. He loved being outdoors. He was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was an exceptional horseback rider and relished pack trips through the beautiful mountains of Utah. Jed came to Tucson in 1989 to create a family owned business Mayfield Agencies which is now known as Mayfield Financial and Estate Protection Services. For the past seven years he has also been a local radio personality hosting “Worry-Free Financial Radio Show of Tucson.” His firm will continue the legacy of trust and confidence Jed devotedly built with his Vice President at the helm.
Jed is a loving husband, a devoted son, an amazing father and a cherished brother. He was a devout member of The Church Of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. He shared an amazing testimony through his good works and callings. He was always available to help those in need. His generous heart and larger than life attitude invited all into his world of compassion, friendship, grace and humor.
