Rose “Rosie” Marie King, age 85, of Tucson, AZ, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and friend passed away on the morning of June 9th, 2022 after complications from a heart attack. Rose was a faithful woman who loved the Lord, her family, church, and friends. Surrounded by family, she smiled and took her last breath as Jesus welcomed her into Heaven.
Rose was born August 7th, 1936, to Walter and Luella Webber in Saginaw, MI and was the oldest of five children. After graduating from Sacred Heart High School in Saginaw, Rose met Harold King and the two married on November 19th, 1955. Over the next ten years, they had 8 children together—Mark, Dawn, Scott, Brian, Kurt, Diane, Kelly, and Rhonda—and the family relocated to Tucson, AZ in 1966.
Rose worked as a waitress at Texaco Truck Stop and TTT, and ultimately found her passion as a cafeteria manager at Craycroft Elementary School where many of the children knew her as “grandma”. After retiring, Rose enjoyed life at home with her husband until he passed away in 2003, spending time with her family, camping, watching her shows and listening to Country and Christian music. She would often be found shopping at the nearest Wal-Mart or Costco and enjoying an ice cream or chocolate milkshake/malt.
Rose was preceded in death by her parents, Walter and Luella Webber, brother Frankie Webber, sister Mary Lou May, Husband Harold King, son Kurt King, son-in-law Terence McDonald, many brothers- and sisters-in law, cousins, nieces, and nephews. She is survived by her brother Robert “Bob” Webber of Gladwin, MI; sister Alice Wesolek of Sanford, MI; children Mark (Cindy) King of Tucson, AZ, Dawn Wilson of Marion, KY, Scott King of Benson, AZ, Brian (Kim) King of Boise, ID, Diane McDonald of Tucson, AZ, Kelly King-McDonald of Sahuarita, AZ, and Rhonda (Jeff) Curtis of Tucson, AZ; daughter-in-law Shannon Paquette; 33 grandchildren, 62 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild with three more on the way; many nieces, nephews, and cousins; her neighbors and best friends of 52 years, the Dalton family; and many friends who became family.
