( He lived 94 years 7 months and 11 days) He served his county in the USCG ( Merchant Marines ) from Jul,7, 1948 to May 26, 1952. He was an electrical repairman and attended the Fort Belvoir , Virginia Engineering school .He received the Japan occupation Metal. He married Helen Ireen Hargis on October 27,1950 and celebrated their 64th wedding anniversary on Oct. 27, 2014. ( just 13 days before she went home to be with the Lord on Nov. 9, 2014 .
Bob and Helen were active in their church most of their Adult life after Bob came out of the military. They had two children, Ruth Ann and Robert Jr. . They served over 50 years teaching Sunday School and other areas of ministry.
They spent over 40 years serving at the Tucson Baptist Church.
Bob was a very successful Barber ever since he left the military. His first barber shop was in Danville Illinois at the Hotel Wolford Building right out of barber college. When the family moved to Tucson in 1961, he was employed on the Davis Monthan Air Force base as a civilian Barber. He later opened his own shop and did very well in the trade.
He is proceeded in death by : his wife of 64 years , Helen I. Burnett
his daughter Ruth ann Argraves : his parents , Alva and MInnie Burnett of Onarga Illinois .
his brothers Donald Burnett and wife Ireen. and Richard Burnett and wife Mildred , three sisters , Ann Payton,
Betty Gagnee, and Lucille Hall and their spouses. And one grandson, Anthony Argraves
He is survived by; his son Robert W. Burnett Jr. and Six Grandsons, and one Granddaughter;
