Georgia: 
Very fond memories of you folks over past holidays. Personally, I respected Richard as an inventor, friend, and gent of the West. 
Will miss him and you as we pass by Rio Rico on the way to Nogales this morning.

At gatherings I went to when he was also there, he was the quiet one who took it all in.  Brilliant engineer, and musician, and when engaged in conversation he had much to contribute.  A very gentle and loving soul indeed.

“Dick”, as we all called him, was a very talented designer. His degree was in Industrial Design, but he prided himself as a very detail conscious engineer. He was perfect for our young company, before computer designing was used. He could sketch, engineer and build a product from scratch. Very few could do the complete product development from an idea to a working prototype. Besides his talent, he was a wonderful person and easy to work with. He was also a very good friend. We were the only two people who worked together in both companies. 

When he Georgia, he was totally enamored and struck by her in so many ways. His attention to detail made him crazy for accuracy and many times had to prove to all of us of the issues involved in a product. The others would say “Oh no, Dick said we can’t make it that way.” But you're free thinking and kindness melted him down to where he loved the world and all of us thanked you for it. 

We were the same age, or maybe one year off, and were the “seniors” in our little family. I am sorry we did not live closer so we could continue to see each other and change the world. Those were special days and we all were a family and we would help and support each other if they needed it. Dick was a member of the original gang that started the company and therefore a family member to us all.  You are in our hearts forever ... Love you!

worked with doing Toy Design in the 70's.
We were so lucky he and Georgia visited California  and
we got to join them for a fun lunch.

A loyal and knowledgeable friend and member of the Tucson British Car Registry  club (TBCR).  Due to our physical resemblance (long hair and beard), my kids referred to him as "your dad". I loved to joke with him about his almost endless obsession of adding relays and fuses to every electrical circuits in both his MGB's; I called him "Mr. relay". When it came to fixing his cars, his tenacity, attention to detail, critical thinking and logical thinking was truly inspiring to me personally, as well as to other club members. Richard, I will miss seeing you at our club events. My only regret is not having the time I used to have which prevented me from going to our Tuesday coffee club meets, stay for "the third shift crowd", and have that last coffee with you before your eternal departure. You certainly have had a colorful, eclectic, musically inspired and multi-faceted life. You'll be missed.... Much love Hernan and Vanessa.

Richard was simply a nice guy that I enjoyed being around sharing our interest in model railroading.  He was easy to get along with as he was a person who thought first and then spoke.  He will be missed at SASME, where his artwork was highly respected.

Richard was a good guy who did some wonderful art work at SASME club. And he would share how he did it. I was in awe watching him create a backdrop scene on the clubs model railroad. He was interesting to talk too and I always felt he would go out of his way to help or teach you. He will be missed.
