He was born to Stella Noriega in their South Side apartment in Tucson, AZ. He was raised by his mom and his 3 aunts until he was 7 and then living with just his mom until Stella remarried when Oscar was 16. Oscar grew up attending Carrillo and Safford schools and joined the Air Force at 16 with special permission. Oscar served at the end of the Korean War to only come back home in search of the love of his life from 5th grade, Irene Federico. Together they raised their three sons and welcomed countless others over the years into their home.
Oscar was preceded in death by his wife Irene, his mother Stella and father Demitrio. Oscar is survived by his three sons Michael, Steve (Liz), Ronald (Maria), extended family Gloria and Armida, seven grandchildren and nine great grandchildren.
Oscar will be remembered as a dad, pops, tata, coach, legendary preceptor and painter and overall "great man". May his generous, patient and tender soul rest in peace. We all know he spent nine long years waiting to be reunited with his "hon". Together they now watch over us all as we remember and celebrate the closing of a generation.
