Nicholas Anthony Germanos, 80, of Tucson, AZ., formerly of Aliquippa, passed away on March 24, 2016 after failing health over the last few years. Nick was born to the late Anthony and Helen (Peronis) Germanos in Sewickley, PA. on December 21, 1935. He grew up on Maplewood Ave. in Ambridge, PA. and was very proud of having played football for the Bridgers, graduating in the class of 1954. He received a football scholarship to the University of Denver. After admirably serving his country in the U.S. Army for two years, Nick started working at the Jones and Laughlin 14" Mill in Aliquippa and went on to provide nearly 40 years of dedicated service through various changes in ownership. He was very highly thought of by his peers and supervisors and had an impeccable work attendance record. After retiring as a steelworker in 1997, Nick worked for the U.S. Census Bureau to assist with 2000 Census and then went on to work for numerous years at the CVS Drug Store at the Aliquippa Shopping Center. Nick is survived by his wife of 54 years, Linda Christine (Ermi) Germanos of Tucson, AZ,; son, Nicholas Michael (Shannon Kaye) Germanos of Tucson, AZ.; sister, Angeline (Harry) Flaskos of Vanport, PA,; three granddaughters, Janelle Germanos, of Fairfax, VA., Alyssa Germanos of Hampton, VA. and Hannah Germanos of Tucson, AZ.; as well as two nephews, Anthony (Christina) Flaskos of Ambridge, PA. and Michael (Katina) Flaskos of Brighton Township, PA. In addition to his parents, Nick was preceded in death by his daughter, Carla Lynn Germanos and father-in-law and mother-in-law, Louis Joseph and Theresa Frances Ermi. Nick was a terrific son, husband, father, brother, grandfather and uncle, always thinking of others first. He led by a terrific example and always had something positive to say about everyone. He was a very thoughtful and kind man. He had a terrific smile and tremendous warmth. He was very proud of his family and loved to be around them. He thought of those around him so much and exemplified values that made the world a better place because he was part of it. Services being handled by Tatalovich Funeral Home.
