Nelda was a loving Wife, Mother, Nana, Sister, Daughter, and Tia/Nina that was given her wings to fly back through the gates of Heaven on Monday,February 1, 2021. She was the second daughter of Rosemary and Roberto Hernandez, blessing the earth with her presence on April 5, 1967 in Pecos, Texas. She was preceded in death by her mother-in-law Ruth Ortiz, brother Ramon Hernandez, nephew George "Gino" Lujan and mother Rosemary Hernandez. She is survived by her loving husband of 33 years Ricardo "Mi Amor" Mankel, five daughters Roseann (Michael) Stofelano, Angelica (Joseph) Urrutia, Alexis (Mario) Granillo, Destiny (Corey) Mankel and Reyna-Mia Mankel. She is also survived by her grandchildren Wayne Michael Stofelano and Aubrey Ruth Hunt as well as her father Roberto Hernandez and 7 siblings.
Nelda lived her life as a homemaker and parishioner of Santa Cruz Catholic Church. She was passionate about sharing her beliefs on forgiveness and love. She always gave the best advice and words of encouragement. She was so selfless. If anyone needed a hand, big or small, spoke to them recently or sparingly, she would run to their aide. She was a substantial pillar to many people's lives and many people would say that she was their second mother. She was extremely creative and spent many hours on planning over the top parties that will last forever in the memories of loved ones. Many of her days were spent listening to tejano music, cheering on the Steelers, praising God and spending quality time with her husband and children.
Her absence on earth will be missed dearly, however we vowed to honor her life by always loving, always forgiving and always having faith in God.
We L8VE you Momma Bear!
