Michael Jerome Sommer, 73, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away on December 15, 2018. He was born in Kansas City Missouri on April 30, 1945. Michael graduated from St Joseph’s High School . He was married to Patricia Oakley May 2, 1965. Michael proudly served in the United States Navy from 1963 to 1967.
Michael and his family moved to Tucson in 1973 and he was employed by Hughes Aircraft until his retirement in 2000. Michael’s passions included softball, golf, and singing in a rock & roll band. Michael was a member of the American Legion and BAJA Sporting Club. Michael lived for his family.
Michael was preceded in death by his parents Michael and Mabel Sommer and Lucy Strohfus. He is survived by his wife Patricia Sommer, Daughters Victoria (Doug) Gaines, Pamela (Paul) Fritts, and Melissa Sommer, Granddaughter Susanne Fritts, Great-grandson Lincoln Morgan and Brother Francis (Shelly) Strohfus. He is also survived by numerous beloved cousins, nieces, nephews, in-laws, and friends.
