Mary E Stocksdale

In loving memory of our mother, Mary E. Stocksdale, who went to be with her LORD on August 11, 2023. She was a devoted wife to Raymond (Ray) Stocksdale and loving mother of Beverly Ditmer (Richard), Phyllis Eikenberry (Rollin), Roger Stocksdale (Carol), Leon Stocksdale (Sheila) and Grace Stocksdale. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Our mother was a strong woman who faced every challenge in her life and death with courage and dignity. While raising five children, she and her husband tended a farm, then later opened a cafeteria in a small town in Ohio. When they sold the cafeteria, they moved to Tucson because of Ray’s lungs. Here she continued the restaurant business working for Frys Cafeteria then joined the VA Hospital’s canteen.

She was a woman of strong faith and she instilled in her children the importance of family, hard work and doing what is right.

Mary was predeceased by her husband, Ray in April 1995. She is survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 34 great great grandchildren (plus another on the way), and many friends and other family members.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to either More Than a Bed or TMC Hospice in memory of Mary Stocksdale.

A visitation for Mary will be held Monday, August 21, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at East Lawn Palms Mortuary, 5801 East Grant Road, Tucson, AZ 85712. Funeral service will will follow from 2:00 PM to 3:00. An interment at 3:00.
