Mary "Nena" Loya Moreno, age 78, of Tucson, Arizona passed away on Saturday, May 11, 2024 among her loved ones. Mary was born in Ray, Arizona to Frederico and Maria Marines Loya, both of whom preceded their daughter in passing. Mary is further preceded in passing by her brothers Freddy "Wilo" Loya, and Frank "Guero" Loya. She is survived by her sisters Rosie Garcia (Mike) and Ignacia Sierra and brother Manuel "Pico" Loya.
Mary was preceded in passing by her spouse Hector Garcia Moreno, to whom she was married for 49 years. She is survived by their son, Hector Moreno, as well as her grandchildren Nikolas Romero (Gabe) and Destiny Cruz (Estevan), and her precious great-grandchildren Athena Cruz and baby Taz Luna Cruz.
Mary is fondly remembered for the quiet dignity she carried and her loving spirit. More than anything else, she treasured time spent with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. When not spending time with her family, Mary could be found watching her favorite drama NCIS, playing bingo, and was seldom without a crochet hook in her hands.
Mary leaves here an indelible mark in the hearts of her loved ones, who will cherish her memory.
"When I come to the end of the road, and the sun has set for me, I want no rites in a gloom-filled room; why cry for a soul set free? Miss me a little, but not too long, and not with your head bowed low. Remember the love that we once shared; miss me... but let me go."
