Born in Tularosa, NM, raised in Tucson, AZ. Martin graduated from Sunnyside
High School, Class of 1982. He served in the United States Marine Corps in 1983-
1988. In 1988 he enlisted in the US Army, where he was a Ranger for 22 years. He
was currently assigned to 2nd Battalion, 5th Infantry Regiment, 3rd Brigade, 1st
Armored Division of Ft. Bliss, TX. Martin is survived by his wife, three children,
three grandchildren, and familia. His integrity, leadership, strength, determination
and humor will be greatly missed. His service to his community, men and country
was greatly appreciated. CSM Barrreras' Memorial Service will be held on
Saturday, May 24, 2014, 11:00 a.m at Christ Community Church, 7801 E. Kenyon
Drive, Tucson, Arizona 85710. Burial ceremony will follow at South Lawn
Cemetery, 5401 S. Park Ave., Tucson, Arizona 85706. In lieu of flowers, please
make donations to Grace Point Church at 5455 S. Westover Ave. , Tucson, AZ
85746 in his name.
