Mary Dolores (Jaimez) Whetton born on December 10, 1953 in Tucson ,Arizona earned her wings on September 26, 2022 surrounded in prayer with her loving family by her side.
Maria, or “Lali”, as most would call her, had a beautiful, loving spirit, and its warmth was felt the moment you met her. She grew up in Tucson,Az and was the oldest of six siblings. She naturally took on the role as a nurturing figure in the family. Our Mother worked as a receptionist at Hertz where she met and fell for the love of her life Ken. They were married on January 5, 1980. Once they became parents it was with much pride that Maria took such loving care of her 3 children and later 10 grandchildren. She tirelessly supported them all in each and every one of their accomplishments and endeavors with a loving smile and open arms. Our Mother was so giving, and loved us all completely and unconditionally. Although she prioritized her family, God was always first in her life. She was wholeheartedly devoted to God and was a devout Catholic. She was an active participant in her parish as a secretary, bookkeeper and a catechist at Blessed Kateri, always teaching and encouraging the youth. We will always miss her laugh, genuine hugs and the never ending love she gave to everyone. She was always sending the strength of her prayers and love to surround her family and friends. We believe she will continue to do so from her blessed seat in heaven.
She is proceeded in death by her beloved parents Virgina and Tomas Jaimez; her beloved in-laws, Floyd and Martha Whetton and many other family members and friends.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 42 years Kenneth Hundt Whetton; her Son, Kenneth Wade (Jessica) and their children Julien and Aidan Whetton; her daughter, Kendra ( Humberto) and their children Emiliano, Lilly, Alonso and Bibiana Valencia; her daughter, Megan (Manny) and their children Jr, Jordan, Tristan and Elijah Marinez. Our Mother is also survived by her siblings; Thomas (Michaela); Loretto (Lupita); Adrian (Blanca); Ana (Vince) and Monica. Her sisters-in-law Linda and Patty; her brothers-in-law David and Floyd (Mary); her Tia Ernie Antone and her Nino Jose Rivera . Our Mother will be greatly missed by many nieces, nephews, God children and many extended family members but she will live in our hearts forever.
We would like to thank all of our family and friends who have sent their heart felt prayers, and expressed their love and support during this difficult time in our lives. We are all heartbroken, but we find comfort in knowing that Our Mom, Nana Lali is now at peace and was met with her parent’s loving open arms.
“Good night, sweet dreams, I’ll always love and miss you , Diddy boo”
