Lily R. Leon, 90 went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 10, 2020, at her Tucson home with her sons by her side. Lily was born August 5, 1929 in Douglas, AZ to the late Jesus Rivas and Rita Altamirano. Lily lived most of her life in Douglas, except for the past 20 plus years where she lived in California and Tucson, AZ.
She was married to the late Robert F. Leon of Agua Prieta, Sonora, Mexico. Lily loved to sing, dance and always cross-stitched pillowcases, dish towels, pictures and blankets for her siblings, relatives, children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was proceeded in death by her son Manuel Santa Cruz, brothers Fernando and Edward Rivas and her parents.
Lily is survived by 4 children Luis Santa Cruz, Robert Leon Jr, David and (Rosana) Leon and Barney (Ana) Leon, 7 grandchildren (Lynett Leon Cross, Marisol Santa Cruz, Fernando Leon Jr, Amber Santa Cruz, David Leon Jr, Andrea Leon, and Anthony Leon) and 12 beautiful great grandchildren (Jordan Korchmaros, Jenasis Ulanday, Isis Santa Cruz, Jaiden Korchmaros, Isabella Leon, Aiyanna Santa Cruz, Alyssa Korchmaros, Alanna Korchmaros, David Leon III, Jiselle Leon, Jacelyn Leon, Jaleese Leon. Also, her two sisters Norma Tovarez and Anita Santa Cruz.
Lily was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, always putting others before herself. She had the most generous, loving heart and touched many lives with her presence. Her family and friends will always be thankful for the gift that was her life. To her grandchildren and great grandchildren, she will always be loved and remembered as Nana Panda and Nana Coco.
She was able to visit different locations in Spain, Florida, Texas, Illinois, and California. She loved the white beaches of the Florida panhandle. She will be sorely missed by all and will always be in hearts.
