Kay Ann (Kincaid) Hanley, age 79, passed away on July 24, 2022 in Tucson, Arizona surrounded by loved ones. Preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Cecil Charles Hanley who she deeply loved and had wonderful adventures with during their retirement life together traveling the country.
Kay was born September 5, 1942 in Denver, Colorado. She grew up in California and moved to Tucson before her senior year of high school. Kay was a much loved mother, sister, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, cousin and friend - everyone who was lucky enough to know her will miss her tremendously. She was a wonderful mother to Bonnie Taylor (Craig Page), Debra Hanley-Griswold, and Nancy Hanley; best sister to Luray Reith and late brother Kenny Kincaid; most beloved grandmother to Jennifer (Roger), Brandon, Wayne, Jacquelyn (Andrew), Madison and Katie; adored great-grandmother to Braydon, Blake, Kendyl, Thea, Tanner and Braxton; cousin to Fran (Doug) Lee and cherished by extended family and friends.
She loved working for Tucson Newspapers and maintained a close network of friends long after retiring. She was an avid crafter; her passions ranged from sewing to making handmade cards (especially when it was with her stamping buddies). She spent life enjoying family, friends and many hobbies, and her favorite place in the world was Hawaii. Everyone will remember her overwhelming love and kindness, which extended beyond family to friends, strangers, and hospital staff. She was a favorite to many because of her friendliness, gratitude, and sense of humor. Her faith in God brought her comfort, especially during her final health struggles. She will be missed greatly, and special occasions will not be the same without her and her beautiful handmade cards.
