Joseph James Andrews Sr.

Joseph James Andrews Sr (aka JJ, Jimboy, Andy) was born September 4, 1945 in Mansfield, Ohio. He was the seventh of eight children born to the union of Nina and Boyce Andrews. After finishing school at Hamtramck High, JJ joined the Navy. There he played basketball and was affectionately known as Sky Piece. The story, as he told us, was that he jumped so high he could reach the sky; lol.

JJ loved basketball, traveling, grilling, but overall he loved his family. JJ married Angela (Watts) in 1966 and had three children, Joseph Jr (Joey), Michael and Maria.

JJ was a Superintendent in the Post Office until 1977, which he also spoke fondly of throughout his life.

He moved to Arizona in 1980, married Lois Andrews in 1982, and had two children, Brian and Douglas.

JJ is preceded in death by his parents Nina & Boyce Andrews, siblings Norman, Charles, Sandra, Barbara, Joyce and Ada. JJ leaves behind to cherish his memory his loving wife Lois, sister Delores (DD), children Joseph Andrews Jr, Michael Andrews, Maria Robinson (Sherwin), Brian Andrews and Douglas Andrews (Jessica), grandchildren Joshua, Lauren, Constance, Gabriell, Sherwin Jr, Chanel, Mikayla, Adrian, Angela, Dominic, Jonathan, Daijah, great grandchildren Jilliana, Joycelyn, Joanne and one on the way along with a host of nieces, nephews and friends.
