James William Johnson of Tucson, passed away peacefully on August 8, 2020, at the age of 90. Jim was born in Syracuse, NY, the youngest son of Charles and Leva Johnson. He grew up in Nedrow, NY and graduated from Onondaga Valley Academy High School in 1947. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army and served his country from 1948 to 1949. Jim was a graduate of Syracuse University receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration and was a member of the college golf team. In 1975, Jim and his wife, Carmelita, along with their five children, moved from Syracuse, NY to Albuquerque, NM and resided there for 40 years. Jim worked in industrial sales for many years before retiring in 1995 from the Johnston Company in Albuquerque, NM. Jim was a devoted husband and father and is preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Carmelita. He is survived by his daughters Marilyn (Neil) Jensen of Orange County, CA, Pamela (Brett) Borden of Raleigh, NC, and Shelley (Richard) Alimena of Tucson, AZ,: grandchildren Eric Jensen, Mitchell Jensen, Luke Jensen, Haylee Borden, and Hunter Johnson and several nieces and nephews. Jim was predeceased by his parents; brother Charles Johnson; his son, James D. Johnson and daughter Amy L. Johnson. Jim was an avid Bridge player, golfer, loved fishing and hunting, and a life long fan of the Syracuse University Orange athletic teams.
