Inez Frances Bell

On Sunday May 22,1932 the world gained a baby girl who was as strong and bold as an oak tree that outwit a mighty storm. The world became brighter and stronger. Inez Frances Branch (Bell) was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania and resided there until the age of 17.

Inez was a graduate of West Philadelphia High School; the class of 1949 were business and typing classes where she truly excelled. Upon graduating from high school Inez decided to apply to the federal government, but first she would have to pass the civil service exam and be able to type 40 words or better. Inez passed the civil service exam and typing test in 1954 and became a civilian employee with the Department of Army for almost 30 years.

During her federal service, Inez would travel and live in 4 countries: Germany, Korea, Turkey and the Philippines. She also lived in Hawaii twice 1969-1974. Inez retired in 1982 from the Department of Army, Fort Huachuca, Arizona. She loved Arizona so much she took up residency not once, but 4 times. Inez was a member of the Links Incorporated in Tucson, Arizona from 1988-1991. She would also continue to travel to Hawaii to visit her many friends and to recall a time once lived.

Throughout her well-traveled life, she always kept in touch with her family and celebrated all their achievements, new chapters, and anything that was a display of growth in them. Inez lived a well-traveled life that had many meaningful memories, and she will be fondly remembered and truly missed by all who knew her.

Inez is proceeded in death by her husband, James C. Bell and is survived by her niece, Cecelia Watkins, niece, Yvette Shelton-Albertson and great nephew Jason Childs.
