Gerry was born and raised on the Morris Family homestead in the State of Kansas. He attended a one room school house near Winfield, Kansas, then Arkansas City High School, and subsequently received an appointment to attend Wentworth Military Academy in Lexington, Missouri for training in military sciences and tactics.
He worked in various industries and roles, including construction, automobile repair, and aircraft assembly. He was an entrepreneur, mathematician, and investor. His passion was automobile restoration, performance tuning, and sales, which he was actively involved in his entire life. He was a gregarious person who loved Great Danes and is known for his sense of humor; he was constantly busy and rarely sat down.
Gerry is survived by his brother Roger; four children, Jamie, Jonna, Janece, and Jennifer; four grandchildren; and two nephews, Steve and Monty.
His ashes will be interred at the Morris Family burial plot, Memorial Lawn Cemetery, Arkansas City, Kansas.
