She passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, April 1, 2019. Diana was born to David and Colleen Thomas, on October 2, 1945 in Clinton, Iowa. She was a 1964 graduate of Clinton High School. Soon after graduating, she met and married Richard L. Nolan on September 4, 1966. In 1972, they moved west to Tucson, where they continued their lives raising their three children.
Diana was a loving person with a huge heart, whose greatest joy was her six grandchildren. She was their biggest fan, and never missed a concert, recital, school function or game. Other than spending time with her family, Diana enjoyed writing poetry. She was an amateur poet who wrote about her family, and historical events that influenced her. Diana was also a valued and dedicated employee of Walgreens Corporation for over 30 years until her retirement in 2018.
Diana is survived by her three children, Kimberlee Reed of Englewood, Florida, Corie (Stacey) Nolan, and Danielle (Manny) Chretin of Tucson. Her six grandchildren, MaKenna, Bill, Mateo, Rylee, Reegan and Reese. She is also survived by her four brothers, David Thomas, Michael (Paula) Thomas, Danny Thomas, and Steve (Susie) Thomas, two sister-in-laws, Joyce Nolan and Barb Horton as well as many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her husband of 44 years, Richard, a brother-in-law, Kenneth Nolan and her parents.
A memorial for Diana will take place on Thursday, April 11, 2019 at 2:00pm, at East Lawn Cemetery, (5801 E Grant Rd. 85712) with reception immediately following.
