She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, award winning artist, educator and the best at laughing at everyone’s jokes, no matter how ridiculously lame they were.
She was the third generation born in Washington D.C. She was married for 62 years and together for a total of 68 years with her high school sweetheart, Bill Katzel. She is survived by him, as well as her two children, one granddaughter and one great granddaughter.
We will miss her terribly.
Services will be held on October 2 at 12:00 pm, with arrival at 11:30 am, at Southern Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery, 1300 S. Buffalo Soldier Trail, Sierra Vista, Arizona 85635. For all who plan to attend, please note that the cemetery asks family and friends to arrive at the veterans’ cemetery at the designated staging area 30 minutes prior to the scheduled committal service.
