Arthur A Chapa 3/16/1941 - 11/19/2010 Beloved husband of Lynette; father of Allen (Amber), Ken and Laura (Justin) Hoffman; grandfather of Alex, Addison and Izabella; brother of Armando Chapa and son of Minnie Goodman. He was our heart, our strength, our hero. He was a friend to many, a mentor to others. He was respected by all who knew him. His legacy is not only his devotion to his family but also his commitment to his community. Art was a long time attorney, lobbyist and community advocate. He believed in the power of education and also in working together in a bipartisan effort to improve our community and our state. He believed in working hard, in taking responsibly for ones choices and being respectful of others. His life was truly a life well lived. He will be missed immensely. The family thanks the doctors, nurses and support staff at University Medical Center for their professionalism, compassion and assistance. They helped Art pass with dignity and comfort. They provided solace and guidance to the family. They were simply first-class. The family also thanks Art's many friends and family members who have lovingly and unselfishly supported them during this difficult time. A Celebration of Art's life will be held on Tuesday, December 7, 2010, 10:00 a.m., St. Augustine Cathedral, 192 S Stone Ave. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to The Arthur A. Chapa Fund for the awareness of H-Pylori-induced cancer c/o the Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, 1295 N. Martin Ave., Tucson, AZ 85724. Your gift could help to save a life. At heart, always a military enthusiast, Art would have been honored to have died so that others may live. Arrangements by EAST LAWN PALMS MORTUARY.
