Sandy lived in Colorado and Oklahoma before moving to Georgia. She graduated from the University of Georgia College of Veterinary Medicine.
She was dedicated to her calling to be a veterinarian where she worked at Briarcliff Animal Clinic for 46 years.
Sandy enjoyed horseback riding from a very young age and later became passionate about dog training which led to competitions in which she excelled.
She is preceded in death by her father, Elmer J. Hedge, Jr. She will be missed by her mother, Virginia Eileen Hedge, her brother, Steve (Loretta) of Atlanta and her niece Stephanie Burroughs (Jim) and their children Jay, Tyler and Lexi of Huntersville, N.C.
A graveside service will be held at Floral Hills Memory Gardens (3000 Lawrenceville Hwy, Tucker, GA) at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 11, 2019.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be sent to Oak Grove United Methodist Church, 1722 Oak Grove Road, Decatur, GA 30033
