Mike was born November 9, 1951, in Kannapolis, NC, to John Frank Lark & Montileen Nelms Lark. He was welcomed by his older sister, Sara & brother Robert.
Mike left Kannapolis in the early 70's moving to Atlanta where he became a meatcuttter at Winn-Dixie for over 15 years.. He later worked at Ingles, Wayfield Foods and Publix. He retired from Advantage Sales & Marketing as a reset clerk in 2014.
Following a 2nd stroke in December 2014, he was deemed disabled and spent his time enjoying lots of sports events, including men's Friday night softball at our church, bowling, football (go Dawgs but never forgot his NC Tarheels), and our family favorite, the Atlanta Braves. He probably watched every episode of Gunsmoke multiple times and enjoyed playing along to Family Feud.
After 3 hospital stays and1 rehab stint in the past year, Mike had been under the care of Virtuous Hospice the last 6 weeks. We are grateful for the care he received from CNA LeeAnn, nurse Linda and NP, Anita.
There will be a memorial service at the Briarlake Baptist Chapel, 3715 Lavista Rd, Decatur GA, Saturday, July 27 at 11:00 a.m., officiant Reverend Russell Garner.
