MARGARET DUNCAN ROUNTREE NOBLE, 91, passed away peacefully on Saturday, Nov 25, 2017. She was born and raised in Peachland, NC. Just before WWII ended, she had a summer job making radios for the troops. After graduation from high school, she earned a DuPont scholarship to attend Wingate College in Wingate, NC. After college, she moved to Charlotte, NC to work for the IRS where she met her future husband, Robert B. Rountree. They moved to Atlanta and raised their three children. Later she married Edward S. Noble of Naugatuck, CT and lived in CT and St. Louis, MO. Margaret loved to travel to other countries; she embarked on a 3 1/2 month world cruise by herself at the age of 73. She also enjoyed getting together with her family regularly. Margaret had a way of lighting up the room and she will be greatly missed by all who knew her. She is survived by her son Robert Rountree of Atlanta, GA, daughter Lynn Rountree Long of Tucker, GA, son William D. Rountree of Sacramento, CA and Lake Tahoe, CA and grandsons Christopher G. Long of Redmond, WA and LT Robert D. Rountree, of Ventura, CA. A private memorial service will be held at a later date.
