He attended his hometown high school, Orangeburg Wilkinson High. Joshua leaves behind three beautiful children, Zendaya – 4, Chozen – 2, and Kayoh – 9 months. He had been living in Atlanta, Georgia for the past 7 years and found his passion in culinary arts and worked at various restaurants in the Atlanta area. He is survived by his mother, Jacqueline Guest and his father Dwayne Watson, grandparents Larry and Lynda Mitchell, his sister, Yanni (Anthony) Giles, two brothers Avian and Patrick Watson, his uncle (who loved him like a brother) Johnathan Mitchell and his auntie LaShanta (Robert) Raymond-Boursiquot and a whole host of aunts, uncles, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends who adored him.
Joshua loved to dance and was an amazing musician and artist. Joshua was a rare light in a sometimes dark place for the people who knew him, and with his laughter and positive spirit he pulled his family and friends through some really difficult times. Joshua was always willing to help anyone in any way he could. No matter how he felt, he would move through his own pain in order to share a moment of joy and beauty with those who loved him.
Joshua had a huge, loving heart and was a genuinely kind human being, a rare thing in this world. In his last selfless act on this earth, Joshua gave the gift of life through organ donation. Joshua’s gift will touch countless others as the family members, friends and communities of those who receive his donation.
A service in celebration of Joshua’s life will be held on December 18, 2022 at 4:00pm to be held at MGrille at 530 Lady St., Columbia, SC 29201
