Dear Nguyen family, we are so saddened to learn of JimJim's passing. It was such a privilege to know & care for JimJim. I remember how mom relentlessly fasted & prayed for JimJim when we weren't sure he would make it through the night. Your faith was such a great witness to us all. Your love & dedication to him was just as relentless. It's wonderful to see how very loved he continued to be in all the pictures. You are in our thoughts & prayers. - Your family at Egleston

Please know I am deeply sorry to hear of the loss of James, and that you all have to go through a heartbreak like this. I hope there is some comfort in knowing how much James was loved here at Meadowcreek High School. He was such a unique student! It makes me smile to remember how he would come to my room during his lunch, to work on his assignments and vocabulary (he wanted to do well on his tests!). His smile and laugh were contagious, and, I was lucky to have worked with him! My heart goes out to all of you.

Dear Nguyen family, my heart aches for you. I used to sit in front of you all at Holy Cross and loved greeting each of you and seeing your beautiful faces. I remember James as quiet and polite at Mass . I'm so very sorry you all have lost him, May the choirs of angels come to greet James and lead him to paradise. My deepest sympathy. Pam Dorsett


I never personally met James except for the times when I saw him in the back of the car eating when Samuel was getting dropped off to middle school.  Samuel talked about him often and I know he really cared for him, so I can only imagine how the rest of the family feels. I know you all are hurting from losing someone so close and I can't say I hope you feel better because that's not something that's easy to do, but I hope you guys heal eventually and remember all the good times you've had with James and cherish all the times you did spend together.

I miss you james. You were and still are my best friend. I remember that time when I got you goldfish and you had the biggest smile on your face. I am going to miss talking to you all the time, now I’m even lonelier than I was before lol. Rest in heaven James. We all love and miss you.

The world has lost a beautiful soul but heaven has gained an incredible angel.  James was one of my most diligent and hardworking students.  He was always full of life and laughter and will surely be missed.  I pray that the family finds a place of peace in their time of mourning.  Rest well James.

I was his case manager at Meadowcreek High School and really enjoyed getting to know James and his family. James was the most inspirational student I have ever had the pleasure of working with.  James always had a smile and loved to laugh and joke around. He will be greatly missed.  Prayers for the family and friends.

I was James' Geometry teacher in High School. He was the sweetest, hardest working and most considerate young man. He visited me every day after school, even after I wasn't his teacher.  He had big dreams and a big heart. He worked hard academically because he was going to college, he would tell me all the time! He loved his family and although he sometimes thought they were overprotective, he knew it was because they loved him. I am so, so very sorry for your loss. I know he is an angel looking down on us from heaven but my heart hurts because we all would have loved to have him here so much longer. Take comfort in that God has taken all his pain away and find peace in the many wonderful memories you have of that sweet young man, who brought joy to this teacher and to many others. My prayers are with all of you.
