James B. (Jimmy) Adams, Jr., 66 of Roswell left this world to meet his Lord on July 16, 2011, after a long battle with cancer. Jimmy was born in Hartwell and raised in Clarkston where he lived, attended school, college, and was a member of Clarkston Baptist Church. He started his career by working in a locally owned small grocery, Harrison’s, for most of his school years. Later he worked in the aircraft tire business with Mr. Herbert Gordy and then owned and operated Adams Tire Sales in Roswell. Jimmy was a wonderful husband, loving father, son, and brother and will be missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his wife of 47 years. Jean Burton Adams, two sons and daughter-in-laws, James B. Adams III of Roswell, Carol Adams of Woodstock; Keith B. Adams and his wife Shea of Marietta; four grandsons; James B. Adams IV of Woodstock, Tyler Adams, Tanner Adams, and Thatcher Adams of Marietta. He is also survived by his beloved mother Mary Sadler Adams and sister Elaine McDearis both of Calhoun, mother-in-law Catherine Burton of Roswell, sister and brother-in-laws Barbara ad Walter Duncan of Marietta, Judi Brown of Roswell, Joan Wood of Savannah, Wayne Burton of Woodstock, and nieces and nephews he loved very much. He was preceded in death by his father, James B. Adams, Sr., two brothers Charles Max Adams and Kenneth Larry Adams, sister-in-law Patti Harrell Adams, and his brother-in-law Jimmy D. McDearis. Services and interment will be held at Floral Hills Funeral Home and Memory Gardens on Lawrenceville Highway in Tucker, GA, Tuesday July 19, 2011 at 11 AM.
