I received news of Dorothy’s passing today. I immediately pictured her beautiful smile. My sincere condolences go out to the Floyd family. As it says in the Song of Farewell by Ernest Sands; “May choirs of angels come to greet her. May they speed her to paradise. May the Lord enfold her in His mercy. May she find eternal life.”

May God bless and keep you all in His loving care always, and stay on the Rock!!!!!!!

I am so sorry and we know the plans that our Most High has for her. Reminiscing on how she also called me Nevada instead of LaVetta. May her soul rest well until the Trumpet blows and all who believed arise by God's grace and forever love for his children. Amen. 

Sis. Dorothy Floyd was such a beautiful person. She always wore a smile and was always willing to help. I would often stop by to visit when they lived on Hardee St.  May she rest in peace as her work down here is done. To Dion and the rest of the family please know you have my sincerest condolences and prayers. Precious in the sight of the Lord is  the death of his saints !

Aunt Dorothy was my first babysitter. She smiled when she slept. She would hum in her sleep and as she would awaken she would wake up singing. If the Pathfinder pledge “Keep a song in your heart” was a person, it would be her.  Everything about her was adorable to me. 

She was as warm and sweet as apple pie with ice cream on top. She was the dessert of my life. She was the most pleasant person I have ever known. She gave the sweetest kisses and warmest hugs. She was the perfect person to stand-in for my late mother. All the love that I could not give my Mom, I just transferred it to Aunt Dorothy. I will miss my precious Auntie. She was one of a kind. 

One day there will be no more Goodbyes.
