Elizabeth Adele (Ameden) Coleman, 92 of South Londonderry, VT died peacefully Tuesday February 10th in hospice care at Grace Cottage in Townshend, VT after a long slow decline in her health. She was born November 3rd 1922 in Jamaica, VT, the first daughter of Wesley and Hazel (Bolster) Ameden. She is survived by sons Robert Coleman and his wife Carolyn Coleman of St Augustine FL, and Wendell Coleman and his wife Chong Hwa Coleman of South Londonderry VT, her sister Emma Lou (Ameden) living in Florida, grandchildren Edward Coleman of Washington, DC, Gretchen (Coleman) Hogan of Burlington, VT, Thomas Coleman and Tennie Coleman, and daughter in law, Sarah Coleman all of the Jackman, Maine area, and great-grandchildren George Hogan of Burlington and Lilian and Stephen Coleman of Maine, and many nieces and nephews and their children. She was predeceased by her husband Loren Coleman, sons Charles and Stephen Coleman, and her brothers, Eugene, Keith, Richard, Dennis, Alwin, and Jesse Ameden.
She was a graduate of Burr and Burton Seminary in Manchester, VT, lived her life as a farm wife, and was a longtime volunteer with the White Elephant booth at the Grace Cottage hospital fair. She greatly enjoyed having two grandchildren grow up next door and in her later years enjoyed watching the birds at her feeder and next boxes.
