Gheorghe N. Corbei

Corbei, Gheorghe N., a 19 year resident of Torrance, passed away on Monday, October 20, 2008 in Los Angeles. Born in Inenu, Romania, Gheorghe was 50 when he died. He immigrated to the United States, in October 1989. While in the United States he began working as a plumber and started his own company in 1994 which he continued to own and manage until his death in 2008. Gheorghe Corbei was also a member of the Romanian Orthodox Church where he devoted countless hours in the improvement of the church.

Gheroghe was born on January 8, 1958 in Ineu Romania to Gheorghe and Maria Corbei. Gheorghe Corbei attended the CFR (Romanian Railroad) Academy and began working as Railroad Traffic Controller in 1981. In June 30, 1981 Gheorghe Corbei married Carmen Pentsa. In May 5 1982, they had their first son together Dan Corbei, and in October 7, 1984 they had their second son George Corbei. In October 1989 Gheorghe Corbei and his sons Dan and George immigrated to the United States to join his wife Carmen Corbei, who had immigrated to the United States in December 1987.

He is survived by his loving Wife, Carmen Corbei of Torrance, CA, Mother, Maria Corbei, Son, Dan Corbei of Torrance, CA, and Son, George Corbei. Preceded in death by his Father, Gheorghe Corbei.

A gathering of family & friends will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Thursday, October 30, 2008 from 5:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. A Prayer Service will be held at Saints Archangels Michael & Gabriel Romanian Orthodox Church on Friday, October 31, 2008 from 6:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. A funeral service will be held at Rice Mortuary Chapel on Saturday, November 1, 2008 at 10:00 A.M. Burial will follow at Pacific Crest Cemetery in Redondo Beach.
