Annie "Nan" Drysdale a 52 year resident of the South Bay, passed away on Saturday February 20, 2016 in Torrance, CA. Born in Glasgow Scotland Nan was 86 when she died. The Drysdale family immigrated to America in 1964. They spent many happy years at their home on Ford Avenue in Redondo Beach.
Nan became a US citizen in 1998 and was proud it was her home. Nan had lived at New Horizons in Torrance for the past 19 years. She had many good times and friends in her time there. Some of Nan's favorite things were going to the Esplanade, lunches with the ladies, wee cups of tea and cakes. She enjoyed watching Doc Martin, Craig Ferguson and Downton Abbey. Her most precious time was the time she spent with her family.
Nan is survived by daughter Anne Drysdale and granddaughters Heather Washburn and Andrea Myers. Also survived by daughter Marie Monaghan, son-in-law Garry Monaghan and grandchildren Sean and Shelby Monaghan. She was preceded in death by her husband Stan Drysdale and her son young Stan. Additionally she leaves behind many dear friends and her in-laws, cousins, nieces, nephews in the UK.
Mum, Granny, Nana- you will always be part of us, we love and miss you so very much. Until we meet again…
The Memorial Service will be held at Rice Mortuary on Friday February 26, 2016 at 12 noon. A reception immediately follows in Rice's Lighthouse Reception Room until 3:00 pm.
