William Henry Moody

Passed away peacefully at the age of 102 at Providence Healthcare on Saturday September 5, 2015 with his caregiver Sylvia at his side. Beloved husband of the late Annie Moody (Nee Martin deceased on August 16, 2015) for 72 years. Son of the late Henry Charles Moody and mother Ellen Moody (Nee Watson).Dear brother of the late Florence (Jack), Nell (Liston), Mabel (Les). Father of Mary Anne (Bob), Lynda (Mark). Grandfather (Papa, Poppa) of Alex, Scott (Carly), Jamie, Derek (Adele), Paul, Michael (Amber), David (Leslie) Great Grandfather (Grand Papa) of Madelyn, Colin, Maria, Nicole, Makenna. He will be fondly remembered by nephews Ken and Bob. A special thank you from the family to Carmen and Sylvia for their wonderful loving care of Bill and Annie. Bill and Annie were married on December 3, 1942, and had a long and wonderful life and family; Bill had a varied life, in postal service, Radio College, then a short stint in Merchant Navy. He was rejected for service in RCAF and Navy due to a disability. He joined the Department of Transport Canada as a radio operator in 1939, served at various stations at Pagwa, Pine Tree Line, Kapuskasing, North Bay, Vanderhoof and Princeton B.C. A short stint in the arctic at Port Harrison in1949. Later years as electronics technician, serving at Malton and North Bay airports. In 1959 was involved in the cloud seeding project stationed at North Bay and Rouyn Quebec. In 1964 transferred to Atmospheric Environment Service, in research and development, later became supervisor of Quality Assurance for the Branch until retirement on December 28, 1977. Bill was an ardent church goer and was very active in his church; he loved his whole family with the love of a grandfather. Friends may call the JERRETT FUNERAL HOME, 660 Kennedy Road., Scarborough on Thursday, September 10, 2015 from 12:00-1:00 PM followed by a service in the Bendale Room at 1:00pm. Interment at Resthaven Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Bill may be made to Heart and Stroke Foundation.
