Mr. William Daniel Daniel Joseph McDonald

Daniel, son of Hugh and Dorothy (nee Bonner) McDonald and step-son to Elma (Sloan) McDonald will be fondly remembered by Leo (Jean), Larry (Marg), Brian, Bill and sisters Shirley (Fred) Randall, Betty (Aimie) DeGuire, Helen (John) Mantha, Sheila (Jim)Ross, Pauline Kennedy, Donald Hall, William, Brian, brother-in-Law Borris Chetbuk, his Aunt Janet, of Cornwall, and her family. Daniel was predeceased by his brothers Bernard, Gerald, Patrick, Ron and sisters Jackie & Don Anderson, Barb & Bob Lounsbury and Mary Lou Chetbuk. He will be missed by many dear friends in Toronto and abroad.

Dan was a pivotal member of Therafields (York) Ltd. He began his practice as a psychotherapist in 1967 incorporating and developing many skills from Therafields: Personal and group therapy, psychodrama, dream interpretation, house groups, work therapy and emotional bodywork. He created innovative programs such as the Journey programs for Men in Ministry and People in Professional life as well as International Sabbaticals. He founded and directed C.P.E.B. Therapies Inc., The School for Psychotherapy and Emotional Bodywork and was co-founder and co-director of Asklepion Toronto Inc. Dan trained and mentored many therapists over the years. He never turned away a knock at his door for help and throughout his life journeyed, unwaveringly, with people as they turned dross into gold to go on and live fuller and richer lives. The spirit of Dan, his life and work, lives on through the many lives he has touched. Thank you Dan, God bless – we will miss you.

Friends are invited to visit on Saturday, May 7 from 4-7 pm and Sunday, May 8 from 2-5 pm at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home & Chapel, 467 Sherbourne St. (south of Wellesley). A funeral mass will be celebrated on Monday, May 9 at 10 o’clock at St. Basil’s Church, 50 St. Joseph St. (at Bay St.). Interment Mount Hope Catholic Cemetery.
