WILLIAM THOMAS DEANE It is with much sadness that we announce the passing of Bill Deane, on September 7, 2021, in his 91st year. Beloved husband of 64 years of the late Mary (2020), and loving father of Howard (Fran) and Susan (Paul). Bill was the proud Grandpa to Matthew, Thomas, Michael, Jennifer, and Zach, son of the late John and Hester Deane, and is predeceased by brother Robert and sister Hester.
Bill was a kind and self-effacing man, incredibly quick witted, and knowledgeable on almost any subject. He had a wealth of patience, and, so often, a story to tell. He travelled the world during his career, spending extended periods of time in remote and exotic locations, the subject of many of his adventure stories. He enjoyed playing tennis and racquet ball with friends in years gone by and, more recently, polishing off a cryptic crossword or ‘getting together with the Johns’.
A memorial service with immediate family members is planned. In lieu of flowers, those who so wish may make a memorial donation to the charity of their choice.
