Wilson Wai Sun Chow of Toronto, died peacefully on January 16, 2018 at Mount Sinai Hospital in his 94th year. Wai Sun was born on October 11, 1924 in China. He graduated with a biology degree from Zhongshan University. After the war he went to Hong Kong and married Ho Sze and together they had a daughter, Olivia Chow.
Wai Sun Chow was a secondary school teacher and later became a School Inspector for the Hong Kong Board of Education. A lover of Music, Wai Sun was a tenor and frequently performed opera publicly including his favourite La Traviata.
Wai Sun and his family immigrated to Toronto, Canada in 1970 where he dedicated himself to writing poems, composing hundreds of hymns and songs. Passionate about his music, Wai Sun was a choir member at the Toronto Chinese Baptist Church. He also regularly played piano at various seniors clubs entertaining many.
Wai Sun will be missed and is survived by his wife Ho Sze and daughter Olivia. A funeral service will be held at the Rosar-Morrison Funeral Home, 467 Sherbourne Street on Sunday, January 21. Visitation is from 2:00-4:00 pm, and service at 4:00 pm.
In lieu of flowers, donation to Kensington Gardens Nursing Home would be appreciated by the family.
